Top Chefs Reveal Their Kitchen Secrets

Well, Ryan has been super busy. After Top Chef, he became the head chef at Mission Beach Cafe, but found it hard to balance the restaurant, his side projects, and traveling. And I can see why! He now has a personal chef/catering business called Ryan Scott 2 Go, where he does everything from cooking a family’s weekly meals to catering events of 750 people. He also teaches cooking classes and has been traveling a lot, including going to Dubai a week after I talked to him to be a consultant for a restaurant there. In addition, he has been very active philanthropically.

Ryan left Mission Beach Cafe in November. During his six month tenure there, the restaurant received a lot of traffic from the nearby Top Chef fan base in the Castro. I dined at Mission Beach Cafe while Ryan was there and I remember having a delicious salad with fennel in it, as well as fresh grape juice. I know that sounds weird, but it was TASTY!
