NYT: Do not bring judgment with the ketchup. Or mustard. Or hot sauce. Or whatever condiment is requested.

Nothing is more annoying than a guest not tasting their food but saying it needs more flavor from ketchup. Or mustard. Or hot sauce. However, if a customer tastes their food and wants a few more red pepper flakes, just a bit more salt, or mustard to finish off a horseradish sandwich, it’s in your best interest to bring it to them.
